Loy's family

Went with Vanthon to Calmette Hospital friday morning to have Loy's MRI - this involved sedation as he would not have been able to stay still for the time required.  He looked very vulnerable lying on the big table - very distressing for Map, his mama.  Finished this process in the morning and took them back to Vanthon's house where they are staying.

I received a phone call at midday - Map had gone into labour,  so the afternoon was spent at a clinic in Takhmao holding her hand.  Could not believe the lack of hygiene in this clinic, children and cats everywhere!  Map gave birth to a beautiful little boy so I am a nonna again apparently!

Nyet and Map now have four children and no money.   Three weeks ago Nyet badly injured his leg so we are getting that treated as well - he did not have any money to seek treatment.  Will look at options for them to support themselves, maybe start with some chickens and perhaps some land so they can start a small farm.  At the moment they rely on their relatives in the village, not that they have much either.

Nyet is the brother of Phal who has chronic leukemia, and the other brother has been in jail for four years for stealing a chicken.  He has one more year to serve, but as we  have paid $10 to the police he will now be released in July - Corruptodia we call it!
